Food Assistance Programs

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP),

is a needs-based food program just for seniors 60 and over – administered through the Fairbanks Food Bank.

With budgetary cuts and no cost of living increase for social security, this program is a wonderful way to help make ends meet, while receiving easy, ready to eat food.

Each box will receive canned fruits, veggies and meat, cheese, along with juice and milk. Another wonderful things about this program, other than nutrition, is the simplicity of the form to fill out.

This program is administered through the Fairbanks Food Bank and the food boxes can be picked up there or delivered to the home through a network of volunteers.

Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP),

is a needs-based food program for families who meet the USDA federal poverty guidelines — administered through the Fairbanks Food Bank.

It is very similar to the CSFP Program in the content of the food box and the collection methods (pick up or delivered by volunteers).
